We visited Promatech in Košice. Many thanks go to Maros Halama, who presented us with the tasks and laboratories in an accessible way. Promatech was founded as a joint project of several academic institutions and industrial partners, and since then, it has been at the forefront of research and development in the fields of advanced materials and technologies. The centre's primary goal is to create innovative solutions that can be applied in various industries, using a multidisciplinary approach that combines expertise from different scientific fields such as physics, chemistry, materials science, and engineering.
The project team has met in Košice to discuss challenges related to outputs. Our friends from Košice prepared a surprise. We went on a study visit to US Steel Košice. We learned how Industry 4.0 approach is used in the entire steel production process, from raw materials, through hot rolling to galvanized steel sheets.
We would like to thank the management of the enterprise for making the trip possible. In a special way, we would like to thank our guide, Mr František Gregor, who explained the intricacies of production processes to us. He is also the author of the photos.
Quality 4.0 has emerged as a critical aspect of modern industry. It enables companies to improve their quality management processes by integrating advanced technologies such as big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT). This integration can enhance product quality, increase efficiency, and reduce costs while improving customer satisfaction.
One example of Quality 4.0 is the automotive industry, where manufacturers use advanced technologies to improve quality control and reduce costs. Ford Motor Company, for example, has implemented a data-driven approach to quality management, utilizing data analytics and machine learning to identify and address quality issues in real time. This approach has significantly improved product quality, reduced warranty costs, and increased customer satisfaction.
Cooperation between universities and enterprises can be beneficial in teaching Quality 4.0. It can provide students with real-world experience, industry connections, and opportunities for research and development while also helping to advance state of the art in Quality 4.0 technologies and practices.
Cooperation between universities and enterprises can play a critical role in teaching Quality 4.0. Some of the ways this cooperation can benefit students and businesses include:
Industry 4.0 and Quality 4.0 are closely related concepts. Industry 4.0 refers to the fourth industrial revolution, which integrates advanced technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and big data, into manufacturing and other industries. Quality 4.0, on the other hand, refers to applying these same technologies to improve the quality of products and services.
Teaching Quality 4.0 is important for several reasons:
